CESAR, Asymmetrical wooden table, bowl, stainless steel tray, petroleum, spoon and fork, gravel, video projection, sound mix variable dimensions.

Cesar is an action of closed order that is dictated when members of a military force sit down to eat at the table. The order to stop the action of eating is dictated by the hierarchical superior placing his fists on the edges of the table. The video projects my body performing this gesture while I wear a shirt guard with military insignia. From the bowl, the petroleum spills onto the table. Guttural sounds and the bustle of a dining room set the mood of the piece.

This work reveals the link between military power and the oil industry in Venezuela. Through symbolic elements, it reflects the search for control over strategic resources, the militarization of the economy, the use of repression as a tool of social control, and the dynamics of corruption that have permeated these institutions.
