Transidentiteitistafel is an artistic project that explores identity as a relational and performative process through food as an expressive tool, developed by Hugo Palmar at the CBK Zuidoost artist-in-residency program.
Approaching transidentity as a conceptual space of transition and negotiation—beyond gender and sexuality, encompassing national belonging, diasporic memory, and cultural imaginaries. Food will become a key medium to explore, and open questions about these processes—its transformations, rituals, and symbolic charge — reflect how culinary practices can be treated as everyday forms of transidentity: intimate, performative acts of resistance and reinvention.
Would you like to be part of a workshop to share your answers with others, experiment, and create recipes together?
We will explore our relationship with food—its origins, histories, and collective, family, and personal myths—as well as how it is transformed in the participants’ traditional and everyday cooking practices, in relation to their origins, migration experiences, and current lives in the city, with a view to creating recipes together.
